manchester modernist society

Who are the Manchester Modernists?
Well... here's a photo of one of our early meetings in 1965, when founder members, Jack Hale, Maureen Ward and Eddy Rhead were bright and young.
OK that's not strictly true - but Jack, Maureen and Eddy are the folk behind the society.
We also have the help of a few tip-top experts who continually lend us their knowledge...
Richard Brook - senior lecturer at manchester school of architecture and a specialist in post war architecture in the region.
Phill Griffin - writer, broadcaster, legend and expert on all things architecturally mancunian.
Christopher Marsden - conservation secretary of the Tiles and Architectural Ceramics Society and co-ordinator of Huddersfield Gem, Huddersfield's modernist society.
Jonathan Meades - writer, broadcaster, patron.
Steve Millington - senior lecturer in human geography at manchester metropolitan university - no one loves the mancunian way more.
Steve Sanders - our media man and PR guru.
Aidan Turner Bishop - top dog in the 20thC Society NW region.
the manchester modernist society is a not for profit unincorporated association.
